Prizes
Prizes included a beautiful, signed print of Bridlington Priory, created by your Sleepy Phoenix - Leonie Brown!
In addition to the competition, The Sleepy Phoenix also brought to you a new Dickensian-style Christmas story by Neil Brown, called A Dickensian Christmas Mystery. Set in Bridlington Old Town during the Victorian era, this festive treat was made free-to-read-online during the Christmas period, and it also featured the competition clues.

A Dickensian Christmas Mystery has since been published as a hardback and is available for purchase on Amazon. It will also soon be available to buy at Bridlington Old Town Gallery And Information Point.
Long enough to be a story of considerable substance; short enough to read in one sitting if you should so devote yourself to that very thing one quiet evening – ideally Christmas Eve!
The Christmas Mystery Competition
Our Dickensian Christmas Mystery competition was a fun and free-to-enter interactive hunt for clues inviting players to explore Bridlington Old Town.
Players had to physically visit the Old Town shops listed below on December 4th - Dickensian Festival day. Each of the listed shops had a poster in the window featuring the Sleepy Phoenix logo, and each shop had a different Mystery Object on their poster. Players had to match six Mystery Objects with the six shops, and their entry was then included in our Prize Draw. The businesses taking part were:

Our online Map of the Old Town was available to help players, and it proved very useful as it indicates each shop location.

We hope you enjoyed our competition and Christmas story, brought to you as part of Bridlington Old Town's Dickensian event (in coordination with ROBOT and various Old Town businesses).
